โ„น๏ธ More about this core project within the wider SoGA initiative:
The IDRC-funded project, “Seeds of Good Anthropocene: Fostering Food Systems Transformations in Africa”, was launched in 2022 and is a collaborative partnership between Stellenbosch University, the University of Witwatersrand, Ensign Global University, McGill University, the University of Guelph, and Stockholm University. It forms part of the broader Seeds of Good Anthropocene initiative and seeks to identify and analyse local-scale food initiatives and innovations that offer viable alternatives to dominant, unsustainable food system practices across the African continent. The project involved identifying and interviewing potentially transformative food system innovations across Accra, Mombasa and Cape Town. The project has run a series of workshops with diverse stakeholders to envision sustainable and just food futures in each region, and identify pathways, strategies and actions to achieve these futures.
