The Social-Ecological Systems Society (SocSES) is thrilled to announce its official launch this month. To celebrate we will be hosting a virtual global launch event on Thursday 27 March 2025, at 3:30–5pm Central African Time (CAT).
We invite everyone and anyone to join us for this event to learn more about SocSES.
What to expect:
You will first be introduced to the SocSES Transition Team, who are excited to share the story of SocSES with you. Here you will hear more about the society, its history, current structure, and future plans – as well how to get involved.
We will have a diversity of speakers give their brief reflections on the development of SocSES, including distinguished scholars and founding SES researchers, early career professionals, and representatives from aligned research networks and regional hubs.
During the event, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative interactive mural board, which we’ll take time to explore and reflect on together.
Lastly, we will hear from Prof Oonsie Biggs, the co-chair of the transition team, who will lead a toast to SocSES, connecting to gatherings celebrating the launch of SocSES around the world. If you’d like your in-person gathering be included in this toast, please let us know (at info@socses.org) by Tuesday, 22 March.
