Who is Individual
Membership for?
Individual membership is open to anyone actively engaged in social-ecological systems research, education, or practice, including researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, at all stages of their careers.
All members who joined in 2025 will be recognized as founding members, provided they remain members through 2027. Founding members will be highlighted in the Society’s member directory.

2026 Membership Rates
We are committed to making membership as accessible as possible, across diverse geographies and institutional contexts. We particularly encourage participation from the Global South, and individuals working at the science-policy-practice interface in government and the NGO sector.
Membership runs until 31 March each year. Payments from 1 January onwards will be billed at a full annual membership and include membership for the following year.

*Global South countries are countries that qualify for development aid (IDA, BLEND and IBRD), as per the World Bank’s classification.

**The Reduced Fee is available for members who are unable to afford the standard rates (e.g., self-funded members, restricted funding environments, retirees). Members selecting this option will need to provide a brief reason during the registration process.
