Postdoc Opportunity at the CST, South Africa: Pathways to Transformative Change in Conservation Landscapes

The Centre for Sustainability Transitions (CST) is inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship focused on exploring pathways to systemic and equitable change in multi-functional conservation landscapes, drawing on the Seeds of Good Anthropocenes approach.

The fellow will play a key role in a set of interlinked initiatives aimed at supporting transformative change in conservation landscapes, including a new Biodiversa project (with case studies in South Africa, Sweden, and the Netherlands), applied research with SANParks’ Mega-Living Landscapes programme, and contributions to the Seeds Working Group of the Social-Ecological Systems Society (SocSES) and the Southern African Resilience Academy.

The selected candidate will work closely with Prof Reinette (Oonsie) Biggs and Prof Alta de Vos, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary international network of researchers and practitioners focused on biodiversity, futures, and equity.

We’re looking for a candidate with strong interdisciplinary skills, experience in participatory or futures methods, and an interest in linking research and practice to support transformative change in conservation landscapes.
