We are excited to officially announce the details of this year’s SocSES short course. The Resilience of Urban Social-Ecological-Technological Systems (SETS) short course will be hosted online from 19 to 23 October 2026. Over the course of five days, a cohort of up to 30 postgraduate students and early-career researchers will explore the broad theme of urban SETS and resilience from a range of perspectives with the help of leading experts in urban systems, the SETS framework, and resilience.
The course draws on the expertise of the following ten scholars:

We are seeking to gather a diverse group of participants from across the globe and spanning a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. A few waivers are available for early-career researchers from the Global South.
